Richard Gant is an American actor born on March 10, 1944, in San Francisco, California. He made his Broadway debut in 1978, appearing in The Mighty Gents.

Gant built an extensive career across film and television over several decades. In 1990, he appeared in Rocky V as George Washington Duke, a character modeled on boxing promoter Don King. He took on a role as a possessed coroner in Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday in 1993, and that same year appeared in the Roland Emmerich film Godzilla as a senior naval officer. His film work also includes The Big Lebowski, Nutty Professor II: The Klumps, Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie, Posse, and Daddy Day Camp, in which he played Col. Buck Hinton. In the cult adaptation of Colin Bateman's novel Divorcing Jack, Gant portrayed reporter Charles Parker.

On television, Gant appeared in a 1989 episode of Miami Vice as Battlin' Barry Gay. His credits span a wide range of series, including L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, Living Single, Seinfeld, Friends, Babylon 5, Special Unit 2, Charmed, How I Met Your Mother, Men Don't Tell, and single episodes of both Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Smallville. He joined the cast of General Hospital on February 6, 2007, playing Dr. Russell Ford. From 2004 to 2006, he recurred as Hostetler in the HBO series Deadwood. Gant then starred as Owen in Men of a Certain Age on TNT, appearing throughout the show's complete two-season run from 2009 to 2011.
