Richard Fire (November 12, 1945 – July 8, 2015) was an American actor and writer born in Paterson, New Jersey. He studied theater at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before becoming a prominent figure in Chicago's theater community.
Fire's career in Chicago centered on the Organic Theater Company, which he joined after Stuart Gordon brought him into the ensemble. His stage work with the company included productions such as Warp!, Bleacher Bums in 1977, E/R Emergency Room in 1982, and Dr. Rat in 1982.
His association with Warp! extended to Broadway, where he appeared in the production in 1973, representing his sole credited Broadway appearance. The show marked a notable moment in his career as a performer working between Chicago's regional theater scene and the national stage.
Beyond theater, Fire accumulated screen credits that included the 1986 film Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and the 1988 film Poltergeist III. He was also recognized with an Emmy Award during his career.
