About

Richard Earl Cramer (July 3, 1889 – August 9, 1960) was an American actor whose career spanned Broadway in the early 1920s and film work from the late 1920s through the early 1950s.

Cramer made two appearances on Broadway during a four-year period. In 1919 he played Rube in Buddies, and in 1923 he took on the role of Hernando in Sancho Panza.

His screen career became closely associated with villainous characters, particularly in low-budget westerns. He appeared alongside Laurel and Hardy on multiple occasions and also worked with W. C. Fields in The Fatal Glass of Beer (1933), a short film produced by Mack Sennett. Throughout his career he was sometimes credited under the variant names Rychard Cramer or Dick Cramer.
