Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Montalbán y Merino, known professionally as Ricardo Montalban, was a Mexican and American actor whose career extended across seven decades in film, television, and theater. Born in Mexico City, Mexico, he built a reputation that crossed national boundaries and encompassed multiple performance disciplines.
Montalban's Broadway career ran from 1955 to 1973, during which he took on a range of stage roles. He starred in the musical Jamaica as well as Seventh Heaven, and also appeared in Don Juan in Hell. His work in the musical theater earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical in 1958.
Beyond the stage, Montalban established himself as a prominent presence in both film and television, accumulating credits across genres throughout his lengthy career.
