Rex McDougal was an English actor who worked in both stage and film throughout the early twentieth century. Born Reginald McDougall on 13 December 1878 in Kensington, London, he built a career that spanned the theatrical stages of Broadway and the emerging British film industry. He died on 30 August 1933 in Marylebone, London, at the age of 54.
McDougal's Broadway career extended from 1905 to 1918 and encompassed a range of productions. His stage credits include The Walls of Jericho, Nobody's Widow, Be Calm Camilla, The Three Bears, Some One in the House, and additional productions during that period.
Alongside his stage work, McDougal appeared in a number of films. His screen credits include Please Help Emily (1917), A Daughter of the Old South (1918), The Beloved Blackmailer (1918), and My Wife (1918). His film work continued into the early 1920s with appearances in Le Secret du Lone Star (1920), The Hound of the Baskervilles (1921), The Bargain (1921), The Knight Errant (1922), and A Gipsy Cavalier (1922).
