Reshma Shetty

Reshma Shetty is a British-born American actress born on 2 November 1977 in Manchester, United Kingdom, to Indian parents. At the age of 15, she relocated with her family to Richmond, Virginia. She initially pursued a pre-med course of study at James Madison University, but success in vocal competitions led her to change direction, and she ultimately earned a Bachelor of Music in opera performance from that institution. Her graduate training continued at the University of Kentucky, where she completed a Master of Music in performance, followed by an artist diploma in opera from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 2005.

Shetty's stage career brought her to the Broadway musical Bombay Dreams, in which she was cast as Priya, the female lead, during the production's national tour in 2006. Her stage work also includes the Off-Broadway play Rafta Rafta. Deep Katdare, an actor and financer who appeared alongside Shetty in Bombay Dreams, became her husband on March 19, 2011. The couple's daughter, Ariya Eliana, was born on October 6, 2015, and the family resides in New York City.

On television, Shetty is best known for portraying physician assistant Divya Katdare on the USA Network series Royal Pains. She also served as an occasional guest panelist on the Fox News Channel satire program Red Eye w/Greg Gutfeld and voiced Queen Angella in the Netflix animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. In addition to her screen work, Shetty has served as the face of Dove moisturizer bar in India.
