Reg Rogers is an American actor born on December 23, 1964, who has worked extensively in theater, film, and television across a career spanning several decades. Raised in Newport Beach, California, he pursued higher education at several colleges before earning his degree from the Yale School of Drama in 1993. His Broadway career stretches from 1995 to 2023 and encompasses productions ranging from classic revivals to new musicals.
Rogers received both a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play in 1996 for his work in the Broadway revival of Philip Barry's Holiday. In 2002, he earned the Obie Award for Outstanding Actor for his performance in Richard Greenberg's Off-Broadway play The Dazzle. His Broadway credits include the 2014 production of You Can't Take It with You, in which he portrayed Boris Kolenkhov, a Russian refugee and dance teacher. In March 2017, he joined the Broadway production of Present Laughter starring Kevin Kline, playing the role of Morris Dixon. He originated the role of Ron Carlisle in Tootsie, first performing the part in September 2018 before the production transferred to Broadway in March 2019. Rogers played Joe Josephson in the Off-Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along in 2022, a production that subsequently transferred to the Hudson Theatre in September 2023 as the show's first Broadway revival. He also appeared in The Iceman Cometh during his Broadway tenure.
Beyond Broadway, Rogers has been active in Off-Broadway and regional theater. In May 2005, he costarred with Marin Hinkle in Craig Lucas's adaptation of August Strindberg's Miss Julie at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. During 2011, he performed in two productions at Shakespeare in the Park in New York City, Measure for Measure and All's Well That Ends Well, and later that year appeared in Theresa Rebeck's Poor Behavior at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. In August 2013, he costarred with Johanna Day in the world premiere of Carly Mensch's Oblivion at the Westport Country Playhouse. In December 2024, he took over the role of Mr. Mushnik in the Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors, replacing Stephen DeRosa.
Rogers has also built a substantial screen career. His film appearances include Primal Fear, I Shot Andy Warhol, Runaway Bride, The Photographer, Analyze That, Igby Goes Down, and Lovely by Surprise. On television, he played the killer Andrew Lincoln in the 2005 TV film Stone Cold, part of the Jesse Stone series, and appeared in the miniseries Attila. His television guest credits span a wide range of series, including Law & Order, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Friends, The Closer, Boardwalk Empire, Touched by an Angel, The Knick, Lipstick Jungle, Miss Match, Hell on Wheels, The Americans, and The Blacklist.
