About
Raymond Crowe is an Australian entertainer originally from Adelaide who describes himself as "Australia's only Unusualist." His performance work spans mime, ventriloquism, stage magic, and shadow play created using only his hands and arms.
Crowe's career in magic and illusion dates to the late 1990s, when he made his first appearance on World's Greatest Magic. His profile continued to grow through television appearances and live engagements, including performances at Caesars Palace. He was featured as the cover story in the June 2008 issue of Magic Magazine.
Among his most recognized work is a shadow play piece performed to Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." That act brought him to the stage of the David Letterman and Craig Ferguson shows, as well as the 2007 Royal Variety Performance, held in the presence of Queen Elizabeth. In 2013, Crowe competed on Australia's Got Talent, reaching the finalist round.
His Broadway career ran from 2014 to 2015, during which he appeared in two productions under The Illusionists banner. The first was The Illusionists - Live on Broadway, followed by The Illusionists - Witness the Impossible, both of which brought together a roster of illusionists performing on the Broadway stage.
