About
Poppy Miller is an English actress born on 28 February 1969 in Norwich, England. She attended The Hewett School before going on to study philosophy and English at New Hall, University of Cambridge. She subsequently trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
Miller's screen work includes a role in Series 2 of the British military drama Red Cap in 2004, as well as an appearance in the ITV television movie If I Had You in 2006. She became recognized for her portrayal of DC Carol Browning in the British detective series The Commander. In 2012, Miller joined the cast of the Nickelodeon series House of Anubis, playing Vera Devenish across the show's second season.
Her stage credits include the 2005 production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at the Almeida Theatre, where she played Mary Magdalene. In 2014, she appeared in the BBC's adaptation of E. F. Benson's Mapp & Lucia, taking on the role of Evie Bartlett, the Padre's wife — a character drawn from Benson's original books that had been absent from ITV's 1980s version of the story.
In May 2016, Miller was announced as part of the original cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, playing Ginny Weasley. She brought that role to Broadway in 2018, performing at the Lyric Theatre in New York City.
