About
Piper Joy Curda is an American actress and singer born on August 16, 1997, in Tallahassee, Florida, and raised in Chicago. Her father, U.S. Army Brigadier General Stephen K. Curda, is the first Korean American to attain the rank of one-star general in the United States Army Reserve, and her mother is of Scottish descent. Curda has four siblings — Riley, Major, Glory, and Saylor — several of whom have also pursued careers in entertainment. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication from Wheaton College in 2019.
Curda began her performance career at age twelve, when she played Roly-Poly in the Broadway national tour of The 101 Dalmatians Musical. She went on to appear in the Disney.com series Rule the Mix in 2011, portraying the character Casey, and made guest appearances on television programs including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Body of Proof, and Malibu Country. She also held a recurring role on the Disney Channel comedy series A.N.T. Farm during its third season, playing Kennedy between 2013 and 2014.
In June 2013, Curda was cast in the main role of Jasmine Kang on the Disney Channel sitcom I Didn't Do It, which ran from January 2014 through October 2015. That same year, she appeared as Alyssa in Teen Beach 2, the 2015 television film sequel to Teen Beach Movie. She released her debut single, "Losing You," on January 15, 2014, followed by its music video on January 27, 2014.
Curda broadened her work beyond Disney with the 2018 YouTube Red miniseries Youth & Consequences, directed by Anna Akana, in which she starred as Grace Ho. In 2020, she led the horror film The Wretched, playing the character Mallory. She appeared in the 2023 Netflix drama May December, and in 2026 voiced the lead character Mabel Tanaka in the Pixar animated film Hoppers.
