Born November 20, 1919, in Portland, Maine, Phyllis St. Felix Thaxter was the daughter of Sidney St. Felix Thaxter and Phyllis Schuyler. During the 1930s she studied at the Montreal Repertory Theater. Her first film, "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo," came in 1944. She was married first to James T. Aubrey Jr., then to Gilbert Lea. Film credits include "Superman," "The Sea of Grass," "Blood on the Moon," "She's Working Her Way Through College," "Springfield Rifle," "Jim Thorpe -- All American," and "The Breaking Point." On television she appeared in "Wagon Train," "The Twilight Zone," "The Fugitive," and "Murder, She Wrote." She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960.
