About
Phillip Officer, born January 16, 1956, is an American musician and Broadway performer who was raised in the Midwest before relocating to New York City and later to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Officer made his Broadway debut in 1997, playing the Geek in the musical Side Show, which went on to develop a cult following. That same year, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs presented him with a MAC Award for major male vocal engagement.
Beyond Broadway, Officer has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at the Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel, among other venues. He has also recorded several albums, including Fancy Meeting You: Songs of E.Y. "Yip" Harburg, Many a New Day: Songs of Oscar Hammerstein II, You Keep Coming Back Like a Song, and Hoagy on My Mind, which was first released in spring 2001 and later reissued under the title Heart and Soul. That recording featured jazz violinist Johnny Frigo. In addition to his performing and recording career, Officer holds a license as a real estate broker.
