Peter Linz

Peter Linz is an American puppeteer born on June 28, 1967, in Decatur, Georgia. He performed in the Broadway musical Avenue Q in 2003.

Linz has been a performer on Sesame Street since 1991, where his characters include Herry Monster and Ernie, as well as Honkers, Osvaldo el Gruñón, Yo-Yol, and Bif. His work in children's television extends across numerous productions, among them Bear in the Big Blue House, where he performed Tutter and Pip; It's a Big Big World, where he performed Snook; The Book of Pooh, in which he performed Pooh; Between the Lions, where he played Theo Lion; and Squeak!, in which he appeared as Tizzy in the first season. He has also performed in Blue's Room and The Puzzle Place.

Within the Muppets franchise, Linz is best known for performing Walter, a character introduced in the 2011 feature film The Muppets. Following Steve Whitmire's departure from the Muppets, Linz took on the roles of Statler, Link Hogthrob, Robin the Frog, and Lips. He additionally provided the voice of Moz in the English-language dub of Sheep and Wolves.

Linz was previously married to Marlene E. Rudy from 1993 until her death in 2016; the two had three children together. He married puppeteer Alice Dinnean in 2023.
