Paul Schoeffler

Paul Schoeffler is a Canadian actor born on November 21, 1958, in Montreal, Quebec. His work spans stage, film, television, and voice acting, with a Broadway career extending from 1988 to 2017.

Schoeffler's Broadway credits include a range of prominent productions and roles. In 2001, he took on the role of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast. He originated the character of Hertz, a German developer, in the Broadway cast of Rock of Ages, later returning to that role on October 26, 2009, after a three-month period during which he played Lawrence Jameson at Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. His final Broadway appearance came in 2017, when he played Cecil B. DeMille and served as understudy for Max von Mayerling in Sunset Boulevard. His Broadway work also included Peter Pan and Sweet Charity.

Beyond Broadway, Schoeffler has performed at regional venues including Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre, where his credits include Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha, Javert in Les Misérables, and Captain Hook in Peter Pan. He also played Javert on the US tour of Les Misérables.

On television, Schoeffler made guest appearances on Midnight Caller and Law & Order. He is additionally known for his voice work on the Cartoon Network animated series Courage the Cowardly Dog, for which he provided the voices of multiple characters.
