Patrick Ball

Patrick Marron Ball is an American actor born on November 10, 1989, in Summerfield, North Carolina. He is the son of Jim and Lee Ann Ball, a former paramedic and a former emergency room nurse, respectively, and has two younger siblings. Ball attended Northwest Guilford High School before enrolling at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, which he left before completing his degree in order to pursue a career in acting.

Following his move to New York City, Ball spent five years performing in theater productions across the United States. He subsequently enrolled at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University, earning a Certificate in Drama in 2022. That same year, he completed his BFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, a credential that enabled his Certificate in Drama to be converted to a Master of Fine Arts degree.

Ball made his television debut with a guest appearance on Law & Order in 2023. In 2025, he took on the recurring role of Dr. Frank Langdon on the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt, a part that earned him a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Also in 2025, he starred as Prince Hamlet in Robert O'Hara's production of Hamlet at the Mark Taper Forum, which ran from May through July of that year.

Ball made his Broadway debut in 2026, appearing in the play Becky Sharp. His personal life includes a relationship with actress Elysia Roorbach, which began in October 2023. Roorbach later appeared as a guest on season two of The Pitt, playing a patient treated by Ball's character, Dr. Langdon.
