Patricia Ann Patts

Patricia Ann Patts is an American actress, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur born on July 31, 1967, in California. One of five children, all of whom were involved in acting or music, she began performing as a child actor in the early 1970s with local theatre companies in the Pasadena area. At age six she appeared in a commercial for Mama Celeste Pizza. She attended Pasadena Alternative School, where she was appointed to a student trustee position on the Pasadena Board of Education.

Her early television work included a small role in the short-lived series A Year at the Top in 1977. That same year, Norman Lear was casting a new version of The Little Rascals. Patts originally auditioned for the role of Darla, but a new character, Rocky, was written specifically for her after she was deemed not suited for that part.

In 1978, Patts auditioned alongside approximately 2,000 other girls for the Los Angeles touring production of Annie and won the title role. She performed the part in both San Francisco and Los Angeles between 1978 and 1979, and her Broadway credit is associated with Annie that same year. Concurrently, she provided the voice of Peppermint Patty for Peanuts television specials from 1979 to 1980.

Her subsequent television work included appearances on Archie Bunker's Place, TV 101, The Judge, and K*I*D*S, as well as the television movies Student Exchange and A Place to Call Home. She also appeared in the films Party Line and For Keeps.

In 2013, Patts launched a business called Write Off the Row. In 2017, marking the 40th anniversary of Annie, she was invited by Inside Edition to New York, where she was featured performing "Something was Missing" from the musical. Patts currently lives outside Nashville, Tennessee.
