About

Otto Hulett (February 27, 1898 – September 1, 1983) was an American actor whose career spanned film, television, and stage. He was born in Salina, Kansas, and his Broadway work extended from 1924 to 1962.

Hulett's stage career included a range of productions across several decades. His Broadway credits encompassed Come on Strong, Born Yesterday, the comedy Mr. Sycamore, My Fair Ladies, My Dear Children, and Personal Appearance, among others. Beyond Broadway, he participated in summer stock at Denver's Elitch Theatre during three seasons: 1943, 1945, and 1951.

On screen, Hulett built a substantial filmography beginning with One Third of a Nation in 1939. He became particularly associated with early 1950s productions, appearing in The Mob and Saturday's Hero, both released in 1951, as well as Carbine Williams in 1952. That same year he appeared in several additional films, including Her First Romance, You for Me, Sally and Saint Anne, Paula, and Francis Goes to West Point. His film work continued with City That Never Sleeps and Ambush at Tomahawk Gap in 1953. Later credits included The Phenix City Story in 1955, in which he portrayed Hugh A. Bentley, followed by Reprisal! in 1956 and Four Boys and a Gun in 1957.

Hulett died on September 1, 1983, in Katonah, New York.
