Otto F. Hoffman (May 2, 1879 – June 23, 1944) was an American actor born in New York City whose career spanned both the Broadway stage and the film industry. He died on June 23, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, from lung cancer.
Hoffman's stage career brought him to Broadway between 1909 and 1913, during which he appeared in three productions. His first Broadway credit was A Broken Idol in 1909, followed by The Spring Maid in 1910. He completed his Broadway work with The Strange Woman in 1913. Alongside his Broadway appearances, Hoffman was also active in stock theater productions.
His work in film began in 1906 with a production through the Edison Company in New York, predating his Broadway credits. After establishing himself on stage, Hoffman transitioned more fully into film, eventually accumulating nearly 200 screen appearances between 1915 and 1944. During his film career he worked for Goldwyn Pictures, among other engagements.
