About

Oscar Eagle (January 21, 1861 – March 14, 1930) was an American actor and director of theatrical productions and films. Born in Gallipolis, Ohio, Eagle built a career that spanned both the stage and the early film industry.

Eagle's Broadway work began with an acting credit in Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch in 1904, a production that marked the start of his documented stage presence through 1906. He later returned to Broadway in a directorial capacity, helming Sometime and The Melting of Molly, both in 1918, as well as Wildflower in 1923. His stage career also included appearances in The Cocoanuts in 1925, Animal Crackers in 1928, and Houseboat on the Styx in 1928.

In film, Eagle worked with the Famous Players and Selig Polyscope companies. His film credits include producing The Laird's Daughter and The Miller of Burgundy, both in 1912, as well as The Girl at the Cupola that same year. He continued working in film through the mid-1910s, with credits that include Arabia The Equine Detective (1913), Our Mutual Girl (1914), The Royal Box (1914), The Little Mademoiselle (1915), The Dictator (1915), The Sins of Society (1915), The Cotton King (1915), Runaway June, Fruits of Desire (1916), and The Frozen Warning (1917).
