Oona Laurence

Oona Laurence is an American actress born on August 1, 2002, in New York City. She began her career as a child performer with credits spanning theatre, film, and television.

Laurence auditioned for the Broadway production of Matilda the Musical in 2012 and secured the title role of Matilda Wormwood. She performed in the show from March 4 to December 15, 2013, sharing the role with Bailey Ryon, Milly Shapiro, and Sophia Gennusa. Her work in the production earned her a Tony Honor for Excellence in Theatre in 2013.

Following her Broadway run, Laurence shifted her focus to film. Her screen credits include Tumorhead, A Little Game, The Grief of Others, I Smile Back, Damsel, Lamb, and Southpaw, in which she portrayed the daughter of the characters played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams. In 2016, she appeared in Pete's Dragon as Natalie and in Bad Moms as Jane Mitchell, the daughter of Mila Kunis's character Amy Mitchell. The following year, she co-starred in Sofia Coppola's The Beguiled alongside Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning. In 2020, she starred in the Netflix film A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting alongside Tom Felton, Indya Moore, and Tamara Smart.

On television, Laurence has appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Orange Is the New Black. She also provides the voice of Hedgehog and additional characters in the Cartoon Network series Summer Camp Island and performs the show's theme song.

Laurence lives in New York City and has two sisters.
