Olaf Hytten was a Scottish actor born in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 3, 1888. His career spanned several decades and encompassed both stage and screen work, establishing him as a prolific presence in the entertainment industry.
Hytten made his Broadway appearance in 1924, performing in the play Whitewashed. His screen career proved particularly extensive, with Hytten accumulating credits in more than 280 films between 1921 and 1955, a body of work that reflected his sustained activity in the industry over more than three decades.
Hytten died on March 11, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, from a heart attack suffered while sitting in his car in the parking lot of 20th Century Fox Studios. He was 67 years old. His remains were interred in an unmarked crypt at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica, California.
