About

Natasha Hodgson, born November 26, 1986, is an English actress, singer, writer, podcaster, and artistic director who made her Broadway debut in 2025. She is a co-founder of both the theatre company Kill the Beast and the comedy group SpitLip, and is best known for co-creating and performing in Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical.

Hodgson grew up in Croft, Cheshire, where she attended Croft Primary School. Her first professional acting credit came at age 12, when she appeared in an episode of the CITV science fiction series Life Force, having been listed in a child casting agency directory run by a friend's parent. She later attended the University of Warwick, where she participated in extracurricular theatre, and went on to contribute written work to publications including MookyChick, Best for Film, and SFX magazine. Her television writing credits include the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared series, Dogs in Space, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Bravest Warriors.

While at university, Hodgson met the collaborators with whom she would co-found Kill the Beast Theatre, alongside David Cumming, Ollie Jones, Zoe Roberts, and Clem Garritty. The company produced four stage shows: The Boy Who Kicked Pigs in 2013, He Had Hairy Hands in 2014, Don't Wake The Damp in 2016, and Director's Cut in 2019. In 2017, Hodgson joined Kill the Beast members Roberts and Cumming, along with Felix Hagan, to form the comedy group SpitLip.

SpitLip collaboratively wrote and composed Operation Mincemeat, which had its premiere at the London Fringe New Diorama Theatre in 2019 before playing at Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios. The show opened in the West End on March 29, 2023, and was renewed there fourteen times. For that production, Hodgson and her SpitLip collaborators received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical. The show opened on Broadway on March 20, 2025, and in May of that year received four Tony Award nominations, three of which were shared by Hodgson and her SpitLip colleagues. Those nominations included Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.

Hodgson has also been active in audio drama and podcasting. She created and starred in The Sink: A Sleep Aid, released through BBC Sounds, which was nominated for the Best Podcast/Online Audio Audio Drama Award in 2021 and was named a Top 20 Podcast of 2020 by The Guardian. She voiced multiple characters across three episodes of Doctor Who Redacted for BBC Sounds, and co-wrote the Kill the Beast production Eglantine Whitechapel: Supernatural Detective as well as the Kill the Beast and Fremantle production Who Exploded Vivien Stone? She is a regular contributor to the Beef and Dairy Network Podcast, for which she wrote and starred in a Halloween special. Hodgson also narrated the audiobook of Skipshock, a novel by Caroline O'Donoghue, which is dedicated to her.
