Nancy Giles

Nancy Giles is an American actress, commentator, and writer originally from New York, New York. A graduate of Oberlin College, she began her professional performance career as a member of the Second City Touring Company in 1984.

Giles made her Broadway debut in 1985 in the musical Mayor, a credit for which she received a Theatre World Award that same year. Her stage work preceded a television career that brought her wider recognition, most notably through two ABC series. She played Private Frankie Bunsen across three seasons of China Beach and portrayed hostile waitress Connie Morris on the sitcom Delta. Her television appearances also include guest roles on L.A. Law, Law & Order, Spin City, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Dream On, and The Jury.

Beyond acting, Giles built a substantial career in broadcast media. She served as announcer and co-host of Fox After Breakfast and became a writer and on-air contributor to CBS News Sunday Morning. Alongside CBS correspondent Erin Moriarty, she co-produced two public-affairs radio series under the Giles and Moriarty banner, one for WPHT in Philadelphia and another for Greenstone Media, both produced through CBS Radio Network facilities. In 2017, she and CBS News colleague Nancy Wyatt launched the podcast The Giles Files.

Giles delivered the commencement address at Ramapo College in 2007 and at Grinnell College in 2014. As of March 2020, she resides in Weehawken, New Jersey.
