Muriel Hutchison (February 10, 1915 – March 24, 1975) was an American actress born in New York, New York, whose career spanned stage and film across several decades. She performed on Broadway from 1936 to 1948 and maintained an active presence in both theater and film throughout the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
Hutchison's Broadway career encompassed eight productions. Her earliest credit was The Sap Runs High in 1936, followed by Merely Murder and The Amazing Dr. Clitterhouse, both in 1937. She appeared in Lightnin' in 1938 and The Man Who Came to Dinner in 1939. Her work continued into the 1940s with The Land Is Bright in 1941, the drama Proof Thro' the Night in 1942, and The Vigil in 1948.
Alongside her stage work, Hutchison built a film career that included Partners in Crime, ...One Third of a Nation..., Another Thin Man, Joe and Ethel Turp Call on the President, and The Women. In the latter film, she portrayed the maid Jane, a role in support of lead actress Norma Shearer.
Hutchison died of cancer on March 24, 1975, in Manhattan, New York City, at the age of 60.
