About
Molly Griggs is an American stage and television actress who made her Broadway debut in 2017 and has remained active on Broadway through 2025.
Griggs was born to Ken and Lindsay Griggs and grew up alongside a brother, Austin, and a sister, Laura. The family relocated from Washington, D.C. to North Carolina when she was six years old. Her early exposure to performance came through the Cape Fear Regional Theatre, where she and her family were involved and which shaped her pursuit of acting as a career. She completed her secondary education at Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Before reaching Broadway, Griggs appeared in the off-Broadway production of Linda opposite Janie Dee. Her Broadway debut came in a 2018 revival of Hello, Dolly!, in which she played Minnie Fay alongside Bernadette Peters. In 2025, she returned to Broadway in John Proctor Is the Villain at the Booth Theatre, a production that also featured Sadie Sink and Gabriel Ebert.
Griggs has built a substantial television career alongside her stage work. She appeared in the pilot episode of the HBO drama series Succession alongside Kieran Culkin. In 2020, she was cast as Wendy Young, the girlfriend of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, in the Peacock true crime anthology series Dr. Death, and also appeared in the series Prodigal Son that same year. In 2021, she played Isabelle Carrick in the M. Night Shyamalan series Servant. She went on to portray Luna Goodwin, the daughter of Dr. Max Goodwin, in the NBC medical drama New Amsterdam, and by 2024 a spin-off centered on her character was under discussion with series creator, executive producer, and showrunner David Schulner. In 2023, she was cast as Lilly Schumacher, President Morgan's Social Secretary, in the Shondaland mystery series The Residence.
