About
Miriam Mahdaviani is a choreographer, former New York City Ballet dancer, and repetiteur for the George Balanchine Trust. Her Broadway appearance came in 1980, when she performed in Makarova and Company.
Following her performing career, Mahdaviani turned to choreography, creating works for New York City Ballet's 1988 American Music Festival and contributing to the company's Diamond Project across multiple editions in 1992, 1994, 1997, 2000, and 2002. Her choreographic work extended to Pacific Northwest Ballet, Richmond Ballet, Jacob's Pillow, Vassar College, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and SUNY Purchase, among other institutions. Internationally, her ballets have been staged at MaggioDanza in Florence, Italy, and at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
On October 9, 1988, Mahdaviani married Eric Goldstone. The couple has two daughters, Carolyn and Elizabeth.
