Michael Hollick

Michael Hollick is an American actor born on August 5, 1973, recognized for his work in theater, television, and video games. He trained at Carnegie Mellon University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and has maintained an active performance career since 1995.

His Broadway work spans from 1997 to 2006 and includes appearances in Tarzan, Jumpers, and The Lion King. In the Las Vegas production of The Lion King, Hollick portrayed the villainous role of Scar. His stage career also encompasses off-Broadway productions, among them De La Guarda and Fuerzabruta.

Beyond the stage, Hollick accumulated television credits in minor roles across several series, including Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Hawaii Five-0, and Sex and the City. In 2004, Rockstar Games hired him to provide both the voice and motion capture performance for Niko Bellic, the lead character in Grand Theft Auto IV. The game was released in April 2008 and earned over $600 million in its first week. Following its release, Hollick publicly disputed his compensation, stating he had been paid $100,000 for 15 months of work. He used interviews to draw attention to the absence of royalties and residuals for video game voice actors, directing his criticism primarily at the Screen Actors Guild for not securing stronger protections for performers in the industry.

Hollick has been married to actress Angela Tsai since 2007. The couple have two children, a son born on July 22, 2010, and a daughter born in 2015.
