About
Michael DeLano (November 26, 1940 – October 20, 2025) was an American actor and singer born in New York, New York. Over the course of a career spanning several decades, he worked across stage, television, and film. He died on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84 from a heart attack at a Las Vegas hospital.
DeLano's Broadway career included an appearance in Hair in 1969. He had also performed in a Chicago production of the same show, where he played the role of Berger, though an injury cut that run short after two months.
On television, DeLano accumulated a substantial list of credits in both recurring and guest roles. He played Sonny Capito across 13 episodes of Firehouse in 1974 and appeared in five episodes of Supertrain in 1979 as Lou Atkins. From 1976 to 1978, he recurred as Johnny Venture in 11 episodes of Rhoda. He portrayed Dr. Mark Dante in General Hospital in 1976 and Reverend Sung in Soap in 1979. His television work also included three episodes of Kojak, three episodes each of The A-Team and Hill Street Blues in the mid-1980s, a guest appearance in Barnaby Jones in an episode titled "Sing a Song of Murder" airing April 1, 1973, and a role as Nick Moreno in season three, episode five of Wonder Woman. He appeared as Chuck Panama in a season four episode of Perfect Strangers and played Frank Coyne in four episodes of the prime time soap opera Flamingo Road between 1980 and 1981, including the pilot.
In film, DeLano appeared in Catlow and The New Centurions earlier in his career, as well as the 1985 action film Commando, in which he played the character Forrestal. He is perhaps most widely recognized for his role as the casino manager in Ocean's Eleven (2001) and its sequel Ocean's Twelve (2004).
DeLano also pursued a music career under the name Key Larson. In 1960, he signed with Swan Records and recorded the tracks "A Web of Lies" and "A Little Lovin' Goes a Long, Long Way." During that period he made an appearance on American Bandstand.
