About
Melody Dolor Kay, born August 28, 1979, in Michigan, is an American actress whose career has spanned theater, film, and television. Her parents, Sally and Frank Kopczynski, operated the Melody Lane Motel in Riverview, Michigan, and named their daughter after the family business.
Kay began performing through local theater before moving into on- and off-Broadway work, as well as commercial acting, including appearances in Life commercials. Between 1991 and 1992, she appeared on Broadway in The Secret Garden, where she served as the understudy for the role of Mary Lennox.
Her film work includes Camp Nowhere and The NeverEnding Story III: Escape from Fantasia. After a hiatus of approximately twenty years from film, Kay returned to the screen with the horror film Round the Decay.
Kay is married to Wesley Berry and is the mother of four children. She also has one half sister.
