About
Meghann Alexandra Fahy was born on April 25, 1990, and grew up in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where she sang at local events from an early age. Her first stage role came during her senior year at Longmeadow High School, when she played Dorothy Gale in a production of The Wizard of Oz. After relocating to New York City to pursue a performance career, she supported herself by waiting tables at The Grey Dog and working as a nanny.
Fahy's path to Broadway began in the summer of 2008, when she attended open calls and was cast as the standby for Jennifer Damiano in the role of Natalie Goodman in Arena Stage's production of Next to Normal in late 2008. She continued in that capacity when the production transferred to the Booth Theatre on Broadway, where previews began on March 27, 2009. On July 19, 2010, the day after Damiano left the cast to prepare for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Fahy assumed the principal role of Natalie opposite Marin Mazzie as Diana and Jason Danieley as Dan. MacKenzie Mauzy then took over as the standby for the role. Fahy remained with the Broadway production through its closing on January 16, 2011. In May 2011, she briefly reprised the role during the first national tour's stop in St. Paul, Minnesota, filling in for Emma Hunton alongside Alice Ripley, Asa Somers, Jeremy Kushnier, and Preston Sadleir.
Also in 2009, Fahy recorded demos for Bree Lowdermilk and Kait Kerrigan's The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown, and she continued performing in concert revues as the title character as recently as March 1, 2011. In July 2011, she was cast in a full production of that same musical at Goodspeed Opera House, where she played the title role from August 4 through August 28, 2011. In December 2010, Fahy was announced as part of readings for a stage adaptation of the 1992 film Newsies, though she did not participate in the Paper Mill Playhouse production that ran from September 15 to October 16, 2011. In January 2012, she appeared in a one-night concert reading of Twilight: The Musical at New World Stages, playing Bella, and in January 2015 she participated in a production of We Are the Tigers at Feinstein's/54 Below as Riley Williams. In fall 2015, Fahy starred Off-Broadway in Lost Girls at MCC Theater as Penny, and in winter 2017 she appeared in Penelope Skinner's play Linda at Manhattan Theatre Club, playing a rock singer.
Fahy made her television debut in February 2010 on ABC's daytime soap opera One Life to Live, playing college student Hannah O'Connor, a role she described as involving stalking an ex-boyfriend, overdosing on painkillers, developing a fixation on a coed, and witnessing a crime. The role concluded in November 2010, with two additional appearances in January 2012. Her other early television work included a guest appearance on Gossip Girl as Devyn and a role in the 2011 Hallmark Hall of Fame film The Lost Valentine, in which she played a young 1940s-era mother named Caroline Thomas alongside Betty White and Jennifer Love Hewitt. In 2012, she appeared in the miniseries Political Animals as blogger Georgia and guest starred on Necessary Roughness as Olivia DiFlorio. Her first film roles came in 2015 with the dramas Those People and Burning Bodhi.
In 2016, Fahy was cast as Sutton Brady in the Freeform drama series The Bold Type, which premiered on June 20, 2017, and ran through 2021. Her breakthrough in prestige television came in February 2022, when she was cast in the second season of HBO's anthology series The White Lotus, playing Daphne Sullivan, a woman vacationing with her husband. She had previously auditioned for a role in the first season of the series. Her performance earned her a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, and in February 2023 she shared a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series with her castmates. Fahy subsequently starred in the Netflix mystery series The Perfect Couple in 2024 and the thriller film Drop in 2025, in which she played a survivor of domestic violence. Also in 2025, she appeared in the limited series Sirens, earning a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. A thriller film titled Banquet, directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia and produced by David Yates, was announced in November 2025 with Fahy starring alongside Alfie Williams, Corey Mylchreest, and Finbar Lynch.
In November 2023, Fahy publicly confirmed her relationship with her White Lotus costar Leo Woodall.
