Maude Allen was an American character actress born on November 30, 1887, in Middleborough, Massachusetts. She died on April 24, 1960, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 72.

Allen maintained a presence on Broadway spanning nearly two decades, from 1919 to 1937. Her stage credits included the play The Famous Mrs. Fair and Thirsty Soil.

In addition to her theatrical work, Allen appeared in Hollywood films during the 1930s and 1940s. Her screen credits included Show Boat (1936), San Francisco (1936), and the 1940 serial The Adventures of Red Ryder, in which she played a character named Dutchess. Her partial filmography also includes The Cowboy Millionaire, Black Diamonds (1940), and Danger Ahead (1940).
