About
Mattea Marie Conforti is an American actress born on May 22, 2006, in New Jersey to Nicole and Damian Conforti. She made her first onscreen appearance at age seven in a Charmin commercial and went on to build a career spanning Broadway, film, television, and voice acting.
Conforti's path to the stage began when she attended a performance of Matilda the Musical with her grandmother. In September 2014, at age eight, she attended an open casting call for the production, received a callback two months later, and was cast as a replacement for the titular character. She trained to perform with a British accent and played the role from June 2015 to May 2016. That same year, she made her film debut in a minor role in 3 Generations.
Her Broadway career continued with the 2017 revival of Sunday in the Park with George, in which she played Louise. The following year, Conforti originated the role of Young Anna in Frozen, the stage adaptation of the 2013 animated film, first during a pre-Broadway tryout in Denver and then on Broadway beginning in March 2018. She remained with the production through November 2018. The Washington Post described her and co-star Ayla Schwartz, who portrayed Young Elsa, as "exceptionally cast." She later returned to Matilda the Musical as the title character in a production at The Muny.
Beyond the stage, Conforti has appeared in several film and television projects. She voiced Young Elsa in Frozen 2 and the character Moon in The Ollie & Moon Show. Her television credits include roles in Power, NOS4A2, The Super, and Viper Club. In NOS4A2 she played Millie Manx; the series was cancelled after its second season. In 2021, she portrayed a younger version of Janice Soprano in The Many Saints of Newark.
In the fall of 2024, Conforti enrolled at Harvard University, where she joined the Hasty Pudding Theatricals and performed the role of Al Dente in the troupe's 176th production, 101 Damnations.
