Matt Lutz is an American actor and recording artist born on October 15, 1978, in Anderson, Indiana. He relocated with his family to Phoenix, Arizona, at age seven, and later graduated from Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, North Carolina. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in theatre from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Lutz has worked across film, television, and theater. His film appearances include A Walk to Remember, Bringing Down the House, and End of the Spear. On television, he portrayed Phil Newberry in the Hallmark Channel murder-mystery series McBride. His stage work brought him to Broadway in 2011, where he appeared in Bonnie and Clyde.

Beyond acting, Lutz pursued a career as a solo recording artist, releasing his debut album, High Road, in 2012. In 2017, he was named artistic director of the Black Mountain Center for the Arts in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
