Marsha Stephanie Blake is a Jamaican American actress born on May 3, 1974, in Jamaica, who emigrated to the United States with her family in the late 1980s. She earned her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1996 and subsequently completed an MFA through the graduate acting program at the University of California, San Diego.
Blake's stage career spans Broadway and Off-Broadway productions across multiple decades. Her Broadway appearances between 2002 and 2010 include Joe Turner's Come and Gone, The Merchant of Venice, and The Crucible. Her Off-Broadway work encompasses additional productions such as An Octoroon and Hurt Village.
On television, Blake built a substantial body of work through guest appearances on Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Third Watch, Elementary, and The Good Wife. In 2015, she joined the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black in the recurring role of Berdie Rogers.
