About
Marlyn Mason is an American actress and producer born on August 7, 1940, in San Fernando, California. Her first name was chosen after a friend of a friend of her mother. Following her high school graduation, Mason relocated to Hollywood to pursue a career in entertainment.
Mason appeared in the original 1967–68 Broadway production of How Now, Dow Jones, performing opposite Tony Roberts in a principal role. Her screen career spans both film and television across several decades. Her motion picture work includes an uncredited debut appearance in Because They're Young, as well as roles in The Trouble with Girls and Making It. In 2019, she took on the lead role of Jeanie in the feature film Senior Love Triangle.
On television, Mason is perhaps best known for her recurring role as Nikki Bell, a Braille teacher who becomes the title character's business partner, in the 1971–72 series Longstreet, which starred James Franciscus. She also appeared in two episodes of Hogan's Heroes as underground operative Lily Frankel, a Marlene Dietrich-style nightclub singer, and portrayed Sgt. Margo Demarest in Season 3, Episode 9 of Twelve O'Clock High. She guest-starred in the final episode of Perry Mason, "The Case of the Final Fadeout," playing Erna Landry, an actress on a television show, and appeared in "The Mask of Adonis," an episode of the 1977 series Quinn Martin's Tales of the Unexpected, known in the United Kingdom as Twist in the Tale. Her extensive list of television guest appearances includes My Three Sons, Burke's Law, The New Phil Silvers Show, Kentucky Jones, Bonanza, The Big Valley, Ben Casey, Dr. Kildare in a recurring capacity, Laredo, Occasional Wife, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., I Spy, The F.B.I., Mission: Impossible, The Fugitive, Mannix, Vega$, The Invaders, The Odd Couple, Love American Style, Marcus Welby M.D., Cannon, Barnaby Jones, Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C., Wonder Woman, The Bronx Zoo, Charles in Charge, Ironside, and Jake and the Fatman. Her television movie credits include That Certain Summer, Outrage, Attack on Terror: The FBI vs. the Ku Klux Klan, Last of the Good Guys, The New Adventures of Heidi, My Wicked Wicked Ways: The Legend of Errol Flynn, and Fifteen and Pregnant.
In her personal life, Mason was married to musician J. Raymond Henderson from 1960 to 1962. She subsequently married Lee Harman in 1972.
