Mark Letheren

Mark Vincent Letheren is an English actor born on 6 February 1971 in Chelmsford, Essex. He trained at Ardingly College and subsequently at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Letheren made his film debut in the 1995 historical drama Restoration, alongside Robert Downey Jr. His television work spans numerous British dramas, including Wire in the Blood, in which he played the recurring role of DS Kevin Geoffries, The Bill, where he portrayed journalist Simon Kitson, and Casualty, in which he appeared as Ben Harding. Additional television credits include Silent Witness, Holby City, Waking the Dead, Heartbeat, and A Touch of Frost.

On stage, Letheren originated the role of Jamie in the world premiere of Jonathan Harvey's Beautiful Thing and appeared in Mark Healey's adaptation of John Fowles' The Collector. He toured the United States with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1996, playing Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night's Dream, which constitutes his Broadway credit. He later took on the role of Bernie Dodd in The Country Girl at the Apollo Theatre in 2010, and played the Stalker in the musical The Bodyguard at the Adelphi Theatre from 2012 to 2014. In 2014, he appeared in Lotty's War, written by Giuliano Crispini and directed by Bruce Guthrie, at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford prior to the production's UK tour.

Letheren previously resided in Bristol with actress Georgia Taylor, whom he met during the filming of Casualty. The two separated in 2022.
