Marilyn McIntyre is an American actress born on May 23, 1949, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jeanne Ellen (née Corzilius) and Roger McIntyre, an aeronautical engineer. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts degree through the graduate program at Pennsylvania State University.
McIntyre began her professional career in stage performance, appearing in leading roles on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway productions, as well as at prominent regional theaters across the country. Her Broadway credits include Gemini and Scenes and Revelations, with her Broadway work spanning from 1977 to 1981. Regional stage engagements took her to institutions such as the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., the Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Repertory, the Alley Theatre in Houston, Missouri Rep, and the Walnut Street Theatre, among others.
Her screen career encompasses both film and television. Film appearances include George Lucas in Love (1999), First Daughter (2004), What's Bugging Seth (2005), The Ring Two (2005), and Into the Unknown, a short film in which she starred opposite her real-life partner, James Harper. On television, McIntyre held contract series regular roles on Watch Over Me, Days of Our Lives, One Life to Live, Loving, and Search for Tomorrow. She also appeared in recurring guest star capacities on LA Law, Judging Amy, General Hospital, General Hospital: Night Shift, The Young and the Restless, and Ryan's Hope, and held guest star roles on series including The Equalizer, Chicago Hope, The X-Files, and Dark Skies.
In addition to performing, McIntyre works as an acting teacher and coach. She has taught at California State University Northridge, Elon University's summer program in Los Angeles, and the private Howard Fine Acting Studio and Ted Brunetti Studio, both located in Hollywood.
