About

Marilyn Hanold, born June 9, 1938, is an American model and actress of German ancestry. The second of six children, she grew up in a family with ties to law enforcement; her father served as a lieutenant with the New York City Police Department. Hanold went on to build a career spanning modeling, film, and television across the late 1950s and 1960s, and made her Broadway appearance in 1962 in Night Life.

Hanold's modeling career reached a notable milestone when Playboy magazine named her Playmate of the Month for its June 1959 issue. Photographer Bruno Bernard shot her centerfold for that edition. Her work in front of the camera extended well beyond print, as she accumulated a substantial list of film and television credits throughout the same period.

Her screen career began in the mid-1950s with uncredited appearances in several studio productions. In 1956 she appeared in The Solid Gold Cadillac as Miss L'Arriere and in Back from Eternity as a casino showgirl. The following year brought roles in Space Ship Sappy as an Amazon, along with uncredited parts in The Garment Jungle, Operation Mad Ball, and The Sad Sack. Television work during this period included episodes of Official Detective, The Texan, Have Gun - Will Travel, and The Phil Silvers Show.

Into the 1960s, Hanold took on more prominent genre roles. She played Peggy Howard in the 1962 horror film The Brain That Wouldn't Die and portrayed Princess Marcuzan in the 1965 science fiction film Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster. Television continued to occupy her schedule, with an appearance on Bewitched in 1965 and two episodes of Batman in 1966, both as the character Doe. She also appeared in the 1967 feature film In Like Flint as Amazon #8 and in an episode of Felony Squad that same year. Her final listed screen credit is the 1970 television film Run, Jack, Run.

In 1967, Hanold married Rulon Keaton Neilson, president of Skyline Oil Company. The marriage lasted until Neilson's death in 1993 at the age of 83. The couple had three daughters: Elisabeth R., born in 1969, and Sabrina C., born in 1971, along with a third daughter.
