About
Margot Stevenson, born Margaret Helen Stevenson on February 8, 1912, in New York City, was the daughter of actor Charles Alexander Stevenson and Frances Riley. She performed regionally and in summer stock, as well as on the West End, before appearing in more than a dozen Broadway shows. Opposite Orson Welles, she starred in the radio series "The Shadow." She married Robert Russell and later Val Avery, with whom she had her daughter, Margot Avery.
Film credits include "Valley of the Dolls," "Flight Angels," "Going in Style," "The Brotherhood," "Invisible Stripes," "Rabbit, Run," and "Castle on the Hudson." Television credits include "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," "The Philco-Goodyear Television Playhouse," "Rheingold Theatre," and "How to Be a Perfect Person in Just Three Days."
