Marcus Chait

Marcus Chait is an American actor, producer, and entrepreneur born on March 18, 1973, in Menlo Park, California. He attended Menlo-Atherton High School, where he played football and helped establish the boys volleyball team. He went on to study psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara before transferring to Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a double major in Acting for Film and Television and Acting for Musical Theater.

Chait's Broadway career spanned from 1999 to 2007 and included appearances in Titanic, Urban Cowboy, and The Pirate Queen, the latter two as part of their original casts. He also took on the role of Christian opposite Frank Langella in Cyrano de Bergerac at the Roundabout Theatre.

His screen work encompasses both film and television. On the film side, Chait appeared in Million Dollar Baby, North Country, and Proud. His television credits include guest appearances on ER, CSI: Miami, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Beyond performing, Chait founded the Film and New Media division for Author Solutions, the largest self-publishing label in the world, where he produced thousands of pieces of original content. Among the most notable projects from that period was the film Malevolent, which was sold to Netflix. Author Solutions was subsequently acquired by Penguin Books in 2012.

Chait currently owns and operates two businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area: 66mint Fine Estate Jewelry and Silicon Valley Diamond and Jewelry Buyers. He is also one of the lead producers of The Lost Boys, a new musical based on the Warner Bros. film of the same name, scheduled to open at the Palace Theatre on Broadway in spring 2026.

Chait is married to Melissa Bell, and the couple has two children.
