About

Maddie Corman, born Madeleine Cornman on August 15, 1970, in Manhattan, New York, is an American actress whose career spans film, television, and stage. She has accumulated credits in more than 25 films and has appeared on Broadway between 2010 and 2013.

Corman began working as an actress at age 14 in the mid-1980s. Her first television credit came in 1985 through an ABC Afterschool Special episode titled "I Want to Go Home," in which she appeared alongside John Getz, Seth Green, and Marge Redmond. That same year she made her film debut in Seven Minutes in Heaven, directed by Linda Feferman, playing Polly Franklin, the overzealous best friend of Jennifer Connelly's character, a girl infatuated with a baseball player named Zoo Knudsen, portrayed by Billy Wirth. In 1987 she appeared in Some Kind of Wonderful, written by John Hughes, as Laura, the younger sister of Eric Stoltz's character Keith Nelson. Her 1990 film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, directed by Renny Harlin, placed her in a cast that included Andrew Dice Clay, Priscilla Presley, Wayne Newton, Lauren Holly, and Gilbert Gottfried.

Through the 1990s and 2000s, Corman built a substantial television presence. She took on a recurring role as Ruthie in the ABC comedy series All-American Girl, starring Margaret Cho, which ran from 1994 to 1995. She made multiple appearances on the drama Law & Order and on the HBO comedy Tracey Takes On, opposite Tracey Ullman. Smaller film roles during this period included parts in Swingers in 1996, Mickey Blue Eyes in 1999, and Maid in Manhattan in 2002.

Her Broadway work includes the play Next Fall and the play Picnic, both performed during her 2010 to 2013 period on Broadway. In 2019, Corman appeared Off-Broadway in Accidentally Brave, an autobiographical play she created about her husband, director Jace Alexander, being charged with and convicted of possessing and sharing child pornography. She also appeared in the 2019 film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

Corman was previously married to Roger M. Dickes from 1992 to 1997. She married Jace Alexander on September 6, 1998, in Carmel, New York, and the couple has three children. They had resided in Dobbs Ferry, New York, before relocating following Alexander's guilty plea.
