About
Mackenzie Grace Mauzy is an American actress born on October 14, 1988, in Greensboro, North Carolina, who was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She has worked across stage, television, and film throughout her career.
Mauzy began performing at a young age, appearing in stage productions of A Christmas Carol, Snow White, and Macbeth in New York City, Virginia, and North Carolina. In 1998, she received the Anna Wentworth Award for Best Child Actress for her portrayal of Annie Warbucks in a production of Annie at Showtimers Theatre in Roanoke, Virginia. Her early television work included the role of Lizzie Spaulding on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, which she held from October 2000 to August 2002. She later joined the cast of the CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful, playing Phoebe Forrester from July 2006 until December 2008, when the character was written out of the series. During this period she also made guest appearances on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, and Law and Order: SVU.
Her Broadway career began in 2008 when she was cast in A Tale of Two Cities, playing The Seamstress. She had declined an offer to join the first national tour of Spring Awakening as Ilse in order to take the role. The production, executive produced by Barbara Russell and Ron Sharpe at a cost of sixteen million dollars, ran for 33 previews and 68 regular performances before closing on November 16, 2009. Mauzy subsequently joined the Broadway cast of Next to Normal, initially standing by for Jennifer Damiano in the role of Natalie Goodman. She later succeeded Meghann Fahy as standby for the role after Fahy assumed the full-time Natalie position. Mauzy remained with the production until it closed on January 16, 2011, following 21 previews and 733 regular performances.
Following her Broadway work, Mauzy appeared in White Noise, a musical presented by Whoopi Goldberg and based in part on the real-life white supremacist pop duo Prussian Blue. The production ran a limited engagement at the Royal George Theater in Chicago, opening on April 9, 2011, and closing ahead of schedule on May 15, 2011. In October 2012, she took on a featured role in Michael John LaChiusa's musical Giant at The Public Theater, playing Claire "Luz" Benedict, with the run beginning October 26, 2012.
In 2014, Mauzy appeared in the film Into the Woods as Rapunzel and joined the ABC drama series Forever in a recurring role as Abigail, the late wife of the immortal character Henry Morgan, with her appearances delivered through flashbacks depicting their relationship during and after World War II. Two years later, she was cast as Linda Kasabian in the Lifetime television film Manson's Lost Girls, alongside Jeff Ward, Eden Brolin, and Greer Grammer.
In her personal life, Mauzy married stage actor and former American Idol contestant John Arthur Greene on June 9, 2012. The two separated and divorced in 2015. She married PLL Lacrosse player Scott Ratliff on October 1, 2022.
