About
Born in London on March 8, 1943, Lynn Redgrave was the youngest child of celebrated British actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson. After training at London's Central School of Speech and Drama, she made her professional acting debut in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Royal Court Theatre in 1962. In 1967, she married English actor John Clark; the couple had three children: Benjamin Clark, Pema Clark, and Annabel Lucy Clark.
Her extensive film and television credits include "Gods and Monsters," "Peter Pan," "Spider," "Rude Awakening," "Me, Eloise," "The Next Best Thing," "The Simian Line," "Touched," "All I Wanna Do," "Chicken Soup," "Teachers Only," "House Calls," "Centennial," and "The Big Bus." Among her honors: a Golden Globe for Best Actress - Comedy or Musical for "Georgy Girl" in 1966 and a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for "Gods and Monsters" in 1998. Lynn Redgrave was appointed OBE in 2001.
On May 4, 2010, the marquees of the Broadway theaters were dimmed in her honor.
