About
Louise DuArt is an American comedian and impersonator born on October 30, 1950, in Quincy, Massachusetts. She appeared on Broadway in 1991 in Catskills on Broadway.
DuArt launched her career on television through The Krofft Supershow, beginning in 1976, where she played Nashville, a member of the fictional band Kaptain Kool and the Kongs. Her work with the Krofft organization continued on The Krofft Superstar Hour in 1978, in which the Bay City Rollers replaced Kaptain Kool and the Kongs; DuArt contributed to that production as a voice actor. During the late 1970s she also made appearances on American Bandstand and several ABC Saturday programming specials as part of the Kaptain Kool and the Kongs ensemble.
Through the 1980s, DuArt expanded her television presence across multiple formats. She appeared as a panelist on Hollywood Squares from 1986 to 1989, returning to the program again in 2004, and performed on Off the Wall in 1986. She provided voices for the animated series D.C. Follies in 1987, and in 1989 headlined a Showtime special titled Louise DuArt: The Mouth That Roared. In 1990 she hosted the Lifetime game show Rodeo Drive, on which she performed celebrity and character impersonations, including portrayals of Edith Bunker, George Burns, Judge Judy, Joan Rivers, and Barbara Walters. During this same period she contributed voice work to Garfield and Friends.
Her voice acting work continued into the 1990s with credits on Bonkers, Tiny Toon Adventures, and Garfield and Friends in 1993, and Family Guy in 2001. From 2001 to 2005, DuArt toured alongside Harvey Korman and Tim Conway. Her stage credits include Together Again, Many Voices of Louise DuArt, Glued to the Tube, Dreamstuff, and Me and Jezebel, in addition to her 1991 Broadway appearance in Catskills on Broadway.
