Lise Hilboldt is an American actress born on January 7, 1954, in Racine, Wisconsin. Her career has spanned stage, film, and television across several decades.
Hilboldt appeared on Broadway between 1981 and 1986, taking on roles in three productions during that period. She starred in Aren't We All? and also appeared in You Never Can Tell and To Grandmother's House We Go.
On screen, Hilboldt accumulated a range of film and television credits beginning in the late 1970s. She has a small role in the 1978 film Superman, and the following year appeared in both S.O.S. Titanic and Ike. Her film work includes a featured role in Noon Wine (1985) and a leading role in Sweet Liberty (1986), the comedy written and directed by Alan Alda, in which she co-starred alongside Alda and Michael Caine. She also co-starred with Ken Howard in a feature adaptation of Mark Twain's Pudd'nhead Wilson.
Her television credits include the UK series Nancy Astor (1982), A Married Man (1983), and George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation (1986), as well as The Karen Carpenter Story (1989). She appeared in the 1983 film The Hunger and guest-starred in an episode of the British series The Professionals titled "A Hiding to Nothing," opposite Martin Shaw, playing a terrorist who becomes close to the character Doyle. In 1983 she also took a co-starring role as a nightclub singer in the Philip Marlowe, Private Eye episode "The King in Yellow."
In her personal life, Hilboldt was married to publicist and former journalist Allan Mayer, with whom she worked at Buzz Magazine during the 1990s; Mayer served as founding editor and publisher while Hilboldt contributed a column. In 1997 she married Richard Stolley, the founding editor of People magazine, a marriage that later ended in divorce. Hilboldt resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
