About
Lisa Peluso is an American actress born on July 29, 1964, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Mary Peluso. She is recognized for work spanning Broadway, film, and daytime television.
Peluso's stage career began at age nine, when she appeared in the 1974 Broadway production of Gypsy alongside Angela Lansbury. Three years later, in 1977, she took on a film role as Linda, the younger sister of John Travolta's character Tony, in Saturday Night Fever.
Also in 1977, Peluso entered daytime television, debuting as Wendy Wilkins on the soap opera Search for Tomorrow. She held that role until December 1985, a year before the series concluded. During her tenure on the show, she replaced Andrea McArdle, who had left to star in the Broadway musical Annie. While portraying Wendy at age sixteen, Peluso received her first on-screen kiss from Kevin Bacon.
Her subsequent soap opera work included the role of Ava Rescott Masters on Loving from 1988 to 1995. She appeared on One Life to Live twice, first as Billie Giordano from 1987 to 1988 and later as Gina Russo in 2001. Peluso also portrayed Lila Hart Roberts Cory Winthrop on Another World from 1997 to 1999, then continued the character on As the World Turns in 1999.
Outside of soap operas, Peluso made a guest appearance on Designing Women as Shannon, a character who works as an assistant lawyer to Reese Watson, played by Hal Holbrook, and clashes with Julia Sugarbaker, played by Dixie Carter.
In 2002, Peluso was featured in an episode of the TLC series A Baby Story, which documented her pregnancy and the birth of her son, Parker Nathaniel Guice. She and her husband, photographer Brad Guice, also have a daughter named Phoebe Ann Guice, who shares Peluso's July 29 birthday.
