Linda Miller

Linda Mae Miller, born Linda Mae Gleason on September 16, 1942, in New York City, is an American actress whose work spans film, stage, and television. She is the daughter of actor and comedian Jackie Gleason and dancer Genevieve Halford, and is of Irish ancestry through her father. She has one older sister, Geraldine. Miller was raised Catholic and attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where she met playwright Jason Miller, then a graduate student; the two married in 1963. From that marriage she has three children, including actor Jason Patric.

Miller began her professional career at age nine, taking on commercials and local stage productions. Her Broadway work culminated in a 1975 appearance in Black Picture Show, a credit that earned her both a Theatre World Award and a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. A native of New York, New York, she brought firsthand familiarity with the city to a stage career that had been building since childhood.

Her screen work expanded significantly in 1976, when she appeared in two feature films: the drama One Summer Love and the horror film Alice, Sweet Alice. Two years later she had a role in An Unmarried Woman (1978), followed by Night of the Juggler (1980) and 2 Little, 2 Late (1999). On television, Miller held a regular role in the 1983 series The Mississippi and portrayed Ann Beaulieu in the 1988 television movie Elvis and Me.
