About

Linda Hoxit is an actress, dancer, singer, and model from Bremerton, Washington, whose career in television, film, and stage spanned the 1970s and 1980s. She began her professional work in the early 1970s at the Sacramento Light Opera Association's Music Circus in Sacramento, California.

Hoxit became a recognizable presence on television variety programming throughout the 1970s, appearing as a dancer on dozens of shows. Her credits in that format include The Smothers Brothers Show, The Sonny and Cher Show, Tony Orlando and Dawn, The Brady Bunch Hour, and The Carol Burnett Show. On The Brady Bunch Hour, she performed water ballet as one of The Krofftettes. She also worked as one of Ray Anthony's "Bookends" dancers during this period.

Her film work includes appearances in Grease, Movie Movie, and History of the World, Part I, in which she again performed as a synchronized swimmer. A member of Actors' Equity, Hoxit accumulated credits in more than thirty musicals over the course of her career. Her stage work includes the bride role of Sarah Kines in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, a production she performed in both on national tour and on Broadway at the Alvin Theater in New York City in 1982.

Hoxit was the former girlfriend of musician Al Kooper and appeared on the cover of his album Act Like Nothing's Wrong, on which his head was superimposed onto her body. After spending twelve years based in Los Angeles, she returned to the Seattle area, where she taught dance and acting for many years and served as an acting coach at the John Robert Powers School in Seattle. She was married to Richard E. Smith for twenty years before being widowed in January 2011. She later married Alan Almeida, Operations Manager of The Sacramento Theatre Company, and subsequently made her home in Sacramento, California.
