About
Li Jun Li (Chinese: 李麗君; pinyin: Lǐ Lìjūn) is an American actress born in Shanghai, China. When she was six years old, her father, a painter, relocated the family to Bogotá, Colombia, for work. Three years later, the family immigrated to New York City. She completed her education at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, graduating from its dance program.
Li made her Broadway debut in 2008 with the Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific at Lincoln Center in New York City. From that foundation in theater, she transitioned into screen work, accumulating television credits that included Blue Bloods (2010), Damages (2011), The Following (2013), and Mistress (2014). That same period saw her appear in the French film Chinese Puzzle (2013), directed by Cédric Klapisch. She subsequently took on roles in two Fox series, Billy and Billie (2015) and Minority Report (2015).
In 2016, Li was cast in the recurring role of FBI recruit Iris Chang on the ABC thriller series Quantico. That same year she joined the fourth season of the NBC procedural Chicago P.D. In July 2017, Deadline Hollywood announced she would join the second season of Fox's The Exorcist as series regular Rose Cooper. In January 2019, she was cast as Jenny Wah, a series regular on the Netflix supernatural crime drama Wu Assassins.
In December 2020, Li was cast in Damien Chazelle's period film Babylon (2022), playing Lady Fay Zhu, a role inspired by silent film actress Anna May Wong. In April 2024, she was cast as shopkeeper Grace Chow in Ryan Coogler's Sinners, which premiered in 2025. The film's cast, including Li, received the Gotham Independent Film Awards Ensemble Tribute Award.
