Lenita Mary Lane was an American actress born on December 16, 1901, in Parnassus, Pennsylvania, whose career spanned both the Broadway stage and Hollywood film. She died on March 15, 1995, in Culver City, California, at the age of 93, and is buried alongside her husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California.
Lane's stage career ran from 1924 to 1936, during which she appeared in a number of Broadway productions. Her credits include Congratulations, Timber House, Border-Land, Penny Arcade, and Kept, among others. Following her years on the Broadway stage, she transitioned to a career in film.
Her screen work encompassed more than two dozen movie appearances. Among her notable film roles were parts in The Mad Magician, released in 1954, and The Bat, released in 1959.
In April 1936, Lane married film director Crane Wilbur. The two remained married for nearly four decades until Wilbur's death in 1973.
